Numerous sentences and phrases in Journal News of Westchester sports columnist Barry Stanton‘s Nov. 2 column were identical or similar to those that appeared in Kansas City Star writer Joe Posnanski‘s Oct. 31 column, according to Henry Freeman, editor of the Gannett paper. Stanton has resigned. He joined Gannett in 1976 as sports editor of the Port Chester Daily Item.
