SearchSystems.net Database Links
http://www.searchsystems.net

A good way to find public information online is by using this service from Pacific Information Systems. With links to almost 5,000 public records databases, it’s the largest free collection of public records databases on the Web. Note: these are links to databases, not the actual databases themselves. A few of the agencies providing links do charge money and those are easily identified by a green “$” next to them

It focuses mainly on the United States (everything from licensed lawyers in New York to unclaimed property in Washington, D.C., to lost dogs nationwide), but you can access some databases in other countries as well (examples: art stolen in Afghanistan; the New Delhi phone book; and aircraft registered in South Africa). I even found the phone number for the Tokyo hospital in which which I was born.

Even if you are not looking for a particular database right now, I strongly recommend testing out this site soon so that you know what’s available there. Trying to use it on deadline may not be easy (at that point you might not even remember this resource).

Turns out combing through databases is big business and there are dozens of sites that will do it for you for fees such as $300 a month or $50 a search. Here I am showing you a free service that is a good starting point (though not as comprehensive, perhaps).
