The Poynter Institute is proud to host The National Press Photographers Association 2004 Best of Photojournalism & Photojournalism on the Web Awards judging. As a school for journalists, Poynter has long been associated with standard setting and “benchmarking excellence.”
For the next five days, March 21-26, judges will evaluate over 30,000 digital images and over 100 websites. Entries are submitted in 37 categories that span the globe. Beginning on Monday, March 22, winning entries can be viewed online.
Judges shall apply the journalistic measurements of relevance, impact, integrity, content value, and creativity in the still categories. Given the maturity of the Web, new criteria of presentation quality, navigation, mastery of the technology and tools have been established for online medium categories.
