Brian Stelter notes that with the sale of NBC Universal, Comcast gains a network news division, two cable news channels, and local stations with news shops. General Electric always pledged not to influence the network’s news programming, and Comcast says it will “continue those policies” and “extend these policies to the potential influence of each of the owners.”
