John Cook reports that journalists from more than 30 news organizations attended an off-the-record Fourth of July celebration at the White House. Reporters were admitted on this condition: “Blogging, Twittering or otherwise reporting on this event is not permitted. If you feel that you cannot agree to abide by these ground rules, please don’t claim a ticket.”
