According to Comscore’s December 2009 U.S. mobile platform report, Research in Motion’s Blackberry still holds a dominant position in the smart phone market, but the iPhone continues to gain market share. In the last quarter of 2009, the Blackberry platform declined one point to 41.6 percent of all smart phones in use and Apple increased just over a point, to 25.3 percent. Over the same period, 27.5 percent of smart phone readers accessed mobile Web sites and 17.8 percent downloaded mobile applications for their phone.
