Gannett-owned PointRoll is working with mobile ad company AdMarvel to launch a new advertising platform targeting Apple’s iPad. According to TechCrunch, the iPad Advertising Platform will “combine PointRoll’s rich media technology with AdMarvel’s mobile advertising capabilities.” In a statement announcing the new platform, the companies said the iPad platform was “part of a broader partnership” that would serve multiple devices and monetize “ad revenue on the industry’s newest distribution channels.” The ad platform plans to support “JavaScript, expandable ad units, animation, interstitials, transparent overlays of content and interaction” as well as “click-to-contact, click-to-maps, click-to-app and click-to-video actions.”
