THE INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE JOINS FORCES WITH REUTERS TO ENHANCE ITS MIDDLE EAST EDITION
Dubai, September 29, 2010: The International Herald Tribune (IHT) will launch Middle East with Reuters tomorrow, a weekly enhancement to its Middle East edition featuring dedicated regional news, business, opinion and culture coverage from IHT, New York Times and Reuters correspondents.
Appearing every Thursday inside the IHT Middle East edition, the new 4-page section will focus on emerging trends and themes throughout the region, complementing the current coverage of the Middle East and the authoritative world reporting and analysis of the daily newspaper.
Stephen Dunbar-Johnson, publisher of the IHT, said: “We are excited to be expanding our collaboration with Reuters to provide even more analysis and fresh insight for our readers in the Middle East. There is a thirst here for the IHT’s brand of high quality, independent journalism as reflected in our growing circulation numbers and the expansion of our operation for example, our new regional headquarters in Dubai.”
“Reuters has a long-standing history in the Middle East, having reported from the region since 1865. Through the years we’ve remained committed to providing our clients with timely, accurate and impartial reporting, as well as developing content relationships that offer our clients access to rich, high-value content,” said Christoph Pleitgen, Reuters global head of client operations, media. “We are naturally delighted to develop our collaboration with IHT into this important region.”
The Middle East with Reuters section will be printed with the IHT in Kuwait City, Doha, Cairo, Dubai and Istanbul, for distribution throughout the Gulf, Egypt and Turkey. The launch will be supported by marketing activity including newspaper sampling in regional hubs, outdoor and print campaigns and digital advertising.
