Christina Warren notes that, according to the new Osnapz Foursquare Brand Leaderboard, media companies are among the most popular brands on Foursquare. Restaurant guide Zagat tops the list with more than 48,000 followers, but media outlets dominate the top 20, including Bravo, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Mashable, CNN and The Huffington Post.

However, the 28,000 people following the Times is a small percentage of Foursquare’s 2 million-plus user base — and significantly less than the 2.5 million Twitter users who follow the paper’s primary Twitter account.
