Kara Swisher reports that a popular RSS reader for the iPad, highlighted during Steve Job’s keynote speech on Monday, was removed from the iTunes store last night following a complaint by The New York Times.
The Pulse News Reader, which cost $3.99, had been downloaded more than 35,000 times, according to Swisher. The app had been featured in the Times Bits blog last week, but Apple removed the app after receiving a request from the paper’s lawyers.
Developers Akshay Kothari and Ankit Gupta plan to modify the app to exclude New York Times company content and resubmit it for sale.
