A man suffering from emphysema wrote and delivered his own obituary to the Mountain Democrat (“California’s Oldest Newspaper”) on Tuesday — then hanged himself the next day from a bridge. The envelope, which the paper’s staff didn’t open until Wednesday, included a picture of the 64-year-old man with a cigarette hanging from his mouth.
