Kobo
The Kobo e-reader now includes a digital newsstand for newspapers and magazines, the company announced Wednesday. Among the three dozen titles available are The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, PC Magazine and The Nation.

Monthly subscription rates vary, with The New York Times priced at $19.99 and The Columbus Dispatch at $6.99. All of the newspapers and magazines come with a 14-day free trial.

Kobo sells a wireless e-reader as well as stand-alone apps for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Palm devices. The device is backed by the Borders bookstore chain, competing with Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes & Noble’s Nook e-readers.
