Nielsen
A new Nielsen study of “Internet connected devices” reveals that news and music are the most popular types of content on the iPad, and users spend more time per session with each than on the iPhone.

Nielsen reports that 44 percent of iPad users access news content “regularly,” slightly above music at 41 percent. IPhone users access more of each, with 53 percent consuming music and 51 percent consuming news.

But the study also indicates that iPad users consume content more leisurely, with more than half spending 16 minutes or more per session with news content. On the iPhone, 78 percent of users spend less than 15 minutes per session reading the news.
