According to several reports, book publisher Random House has yet to come to terms with Apple over placement in the new iBooks store that will be featured on the iPad. The Financial Times reports that the publisher is concerned that Apple’s e-book pricing structure will “erode established publishing practices” and lead to a price war. The very announcement of the iPad and iBooks pricing caused early skirmishes in such a war, as Macmillan and Amazon.com quickly renegotiated their pricing structure back in February.
