“I could tell, and I think anyone could, in a second that [the Katy Perry video] would get a fair amount of condemnation from some parents and it made me wonder why do it this way,” writes PBS ombudsman Michael Geter. “My guess is that another inch of dress on top would have produced a slightly more modestly dressed Perry and an entertaining segment that would not have produced this embarrassing controversy.”
