The county auditor himself called Terrance C.Z. Egger at the Plain Dealer to talk about value of his house. Then, earlier this year, one of the auditor’s employees contacted the publisher to warn him that a cut in his property value would be leaked to TV reporters if the paper continued writing about the auditor. Finally, Egger’s file at the auditor’s office disappeared. || Related story.
