AP photographer Brennan Linsley’s images from Afghanistan “capture some desperately urgent moments,” says AP executive Editor Kathleen Carroll. “We are in the fields with [U.S. soldiers] to document every aspect of war and death is simply a part of that reality.” The AP transmitted Linsley’s latest photos in advance to give editors more time to decide if and how they want to use the material.
