It has been 10 weeks since the formation of the Philadelphia Media Network and we’re off to a great start. Thanks to everyone’s enthusiasm and commitment to making PMN the most successful regional media company in the U.S. We’ve already racked-up some small victories, including several ongoing investigative reporting projects (that continue to receive considerable attention in the community), our unparalleled sports coverage (which receives national attention), the launch of our series of vertical mobile applications and a Thanksgiving Day edition of the newspaper that generated more advertising revenue than the previous year. Needless to say, these victories are just the beginning.

During the week of January 3, we will be hosting another series of company “all-hands” meetings to share some of the exciting plans we have for 2011. In the meantime, I do have one very important announcement to make…

Today, Stan Wischnowski will become the Editor of The Philadelphia Inquirer. As Acting Editor, Stan exhibited the leadership and news judgment required to manage the dominant newspaper serving the fourth largest media market in the U.S. Stan will be introducing new content in the paper early next year and will be working closely with Philly.com and the Daily News to launch several exciting interactive experiences on the various platforms within the Philadelphia Media Network. Please join me in congratulating Stan and wishing him well in his new role.

I appreciate the effort displayed by everyone these past 10 weeks and look forward to speaking to all of you in January. My very best wishes to you and your families for a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season!

Greg
