Subject: A message from Debby Krenek and Debbie Henley
We are extremely pleased to announce that Richard Rosen is joining Newsday as managing editor starting in early January, and will be responsible for overseeing the LI Desk as well as Business and Sports. He will report to executive editor Debbie Henley.
Rich comes to us from Women’s Wear Daily, where he served as managing editor and was responsible for helping to direct all news coverage and supervising a staff of editors and reporters for both the publication’s print and online editions. Prior to this, Rich spent nearly 24 years covering the New York area at the New York Daily News, the New York Times and Bloomberg News. He was a city editor, Sunday editor, managing editor and digital editor at the New York Daily News and worked on the Metro Desk of the New York Times. Rich served as the New York Editor at Bloomberg News, where he started a New York team responsible for covering major news throughout the area, including 9/11, and developing enterprise stories for the international, real-time wire service serving newspapers, radio stations and Bloomberg terminal customers.
We are thrilled to welcome Rich to Newsday. He is an enthusiastic and creative leader, and we have no doubt that his strong experience in local coverage and online news will benefit Newsday’s newsroom.
