Romenesko+ Memos
Emily Peck will be Huffington Post’s managing editor for Money and Finance. At the Wall Street Journal, she was most recently Management and Careers Editor, and Online Real Estate Editor before that. “She brings a reputation as a consummate team player, a pragmatic problem solver, and a great shaper of words,” says the memo announcing the appointment.

Dear All:

I’m delighted to announce that we will soon gain the considerable journalistic talents of Emily Peck, who will join us as Managing Editor for Money and Finance effective October 3rd. She will take on daily management responsibilities for Daily Finance, Real Estate and Jobs.

Emily joins us from the Wall Street Journal where she was most recently Management and Careers Editor, previously the Online Real Estate Editor, and before that the Online Personal Journal Editor. For those of you keeping score at home, that amounts to a trifecta of ideal experience for this demanding new job. She brings a reputation as a consummate team player, a pragmatic problem solver, and a great shaper of words. Emily is a graduate of SUNY Albany, with a Master’s fin Political Theory from Columbia.

Emily’s hiring represents our commitment to continue elevating and expanding these three vital, high-traffic sites that collectively help our readers unravel the real life issues of home, job and money. She will be working directly with the editors and chief of the three sites, Latif Lewis, Laura Goldstein, and Cameron Caswell, helping them plan coverage, organize beats, refine existing features and launch new ones. She will work directly with reporters to help shape stories, and she will serve as the liaison between editorial and the business side. Not least, she will accelerate placing these three sites on the HuffPost platform to enable the addition of bloggers and comments.

Please join me in welcoming Emily, whose energy, enthusiasm and journalistic vision promise a fruitful collaboration.

Peter
