Politico Reporter Will Cover Lobbying and Influence
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 13, 2011 — National Journal Group announced today that Politico reporter Chris Frates is joining the organization as National Journal’s new Lobbying Correspondent. At Politico, Frates has established himself as one of the top reporters on the influence beat.

At Politico, Frates covered the intersection of money, politics, and policy, and was the founder and author of “Politico Influence,” a daily intelligence and analysis email chronicling Washington’s lobbyists and message makers. Previously, he covered health care reform for Politico, regularly breaking news and driving the conversation on that all-consuming debate. Frates also founded and wrote “Politico Pulse,” the organization’s daily health reform email briefing that quickly became a must-read crib sheet in Washington.

His work has appeared in the Washington Post, the Boston Globe, the Dallas Morning News, and dozens of other publications. His political analysis has also been featured on the CBS Evening News, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, WTOP, and many other national and local television and radio programs.
Frates will begin work at National Journal in mid-July.
