Google News founder Krishna Bharat pointed that out during a Columbia j-school talk Thursday night. He told the audience that he’s “quite excited” about the New York Times’ paywall “because it’s a very important and interesting experiment,” but at Google “we don’t really have a point of view one way or the other on paywalls” — except that, “if you can sustain the publishing industry, it’s a wonderful thing.”
