Former First Lady Betty Ford will be buried beside her husband — former president Gerald Ford — today in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which honored her life with front page treatment several times since her death last week. Ford was also honored at a memorial service in Palm Springs, California on Tuesday, attended by First Ladies Rosalynn Carter, Nancy Reagan, Michelle Obama, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whose conversation with former president George W. Bush captured attention. Former President Clinton and Barbara Bush are expected to attend today’s service for Ford. In related news about First Ladies: Michelle Obama appears on Better Homes & Gardens cover, Vanity Fair is working on a story about her, and CJR is outraged that her 1,700 calorie lunch was big news.

Betty Ford grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and will be buried with her husband there at his presidential museum.

Ford’s body was brought to Michigan on Wednesday.
Ford’s Palm Springs, Calif., service was held not far from where she founded the Betty Ford Center to treat addictions.
