In this week’s career chat, we talked with Mc Nelly Torres, reporter and associate director of the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting, about the role that centers like this play in the new journalism career landscape and how they’re created. We also talked about changes in investigative journalism and how centers like this give investigative journalists opportunities to continue doing quality work.
The Florida Center for Investigative Reporting was founded last year in response to cutbacks in mainstream media that the organization says have “left a void in state news coverage, particularly in investigative reporting.”
