This week’s career chat looked at the role and responsibilities of a “portfolio careerist.”

In journalism and many other fields, we are seeing the emergence of portfolio careers, those in which someone does not work for one employer at a time, but for several people or companies at once, cobbling together a living with a schedule that can be both challenging and liberating.

During the chat, our guest Katherine Lewis talked about her experiences as a portfolio careerist. Harvard-educated and formerly a national correspondent, she now freelances, writes for About.com and is the founder of CurrentMom.com.

You can revisit this page at any time to replay the chat.
