I don’t know a single writer who thinks he or she gets enough feedback. If you have a supportive editor, someone who is willing to coach you so you can achieve your full attention as a writer, you are one lucky scribe.
The truth is, with depleted resources in news organizations, writers and editors find it harder and harder to work together to create the best version of the report or story.
So what is an ignored writer supposed to do?
Writer, coach thyself.
Coaching yourself sounds like a contradiction in terms, like trying to tickle yourself into hysterics. But it works. And once you gain the confidence of coaching yourself, you will grow in the ability to help other needy writers.
