In this week’s career chat, we talked with Kim Bui, community editor and social media specialist at Southern California Public Radio’s KPCC-FM. Bui wears several hats in her role, working at the station and in the community. She began her career in traditional newspaper jobs.

Bui — who cofounded #wjchat — talked about how she juggles roles and how her interests in city government reporting, computer assisted reporting, features reporting and fashion blogging led her to today’s job. During the chat, she said that social media “isn’t just about sharing your story; it’s about having the community participate in the process.”
