In today’s career chat, we talked with USA Today‘s Standards Editor Brent Jones about what standards editors do and how they can help journalists and the public.

Jones talked about his work as standards editor and the qualifications necessary for this position. (Other news organizations, including The New York Times and The Associated Press, also have standards editors.) Additionally, Jones discussed the recruiting work he does for USA Today and offered general tips for those looking for work in the industry.
