In this week’s career chat, we talked with Tara Leonard, a page designer and Web developer at The Chronicle in Centralia, Wash.
Leonard started at The Chronicle as a newsroom assistant and started keeping a personal blog about food. She soon had a weekly food column in the paper, and was eventually given small assignments. Leonard said “yes” to just about every assignment and moved her way up to covering bigger stories.
