Mashable has hired former pcmag.com editor and Ziff Davis content veep Lance Ulanoff, 47, to run day to day coverage. He’ll work closely with current editor Adam Ostrow, who is moving into the executive editor slot. Mashable founder Pete Cashmore says expanding entertainment coverage and creating a content channel for United States and world news is part of Mashable’s plan to become “the source of news for the digital generation.” NYT’s Jennifer Preston writes:
Mashable is now one of the largest and most influential online sites for social media and technology news with 15 million unique visitors monthly. Its growth has been spurred by the estimated 4 million people who use social media to follow Mashable’s content and share it with their personal networks on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and other social sites.
