We congratulate all the Pulitzer Prize winners and others who have won contests throughout the year. Still, there’s a lot of excellent journalism that goes unrecognized at awards time and year-round. Maybe it was overshadowed by high-profile work at larger news organizations. Or maybe we just weren’t looking in the right places.

Poynter has always elevated the best journalism in our teaching, and we hope you’ll help us find exemplary work to highlight.

Using the hashtag #bestoverlooked, tweet a link to journalism that wins your “best of” award, limiting your “entry form” to 140 characters. The work can be from any medium — online, print, TV, radio.

We’ll keep track of the #bestoverlooked tweets in the coming days and weeks and will share them in a Storify below. We’ll also chat with the journalists responsible for the most interesting work you submit, we’ll ask them about their projects, and help others learn from their example.

If you’ve ever wished you were judging the Pulitzers, this hashtag’s for you.

Support high-integrity, independent journalism that serves democracy. Make a gift to Poynter today. The Poynter Institute is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, and your gift helps us make good journalism better.
