Over the last decade, no one has offered me more encouragement than Steve Buttry, especially when it comes to my collection of writing tools. When I began collecting and publishing the tools in 2004, Steve interviewed me about what I was learning. He has been gracious enough to interview me again for his blog, and his questions have helped me think through what I’m still learning as a writer.
The more I write, the more I learn. The more I teach, the more I learn. The more I learn, the more I write and teach. A virtuous cycle.
The publication of the book “Writing Tools” led to a sequel of sorts: “The Glamour of Grammar“; which has led to a third book to be published this fall:Â Help! For Writers. That’s three books in five years, a level of productivity I can trace back to the advice of the late Donald Murray: “A page a day, Roy, is a book a year.”
