CNBC “rising star” Erin Burnett held talks with ABC and CBS before deciding to join CNN, reports Brian Stelter. (He profiled her in July 2008.) A CNBC anchor since 2005, Burnett is currently a co-anchor of “Squawk on the Street” on weekdays from 9 to 11 a.m. ET and the sole anchor of “Street Signs” from 2 to 4 p.m. In 2008, Vanity Fair noted that Burnett “has achieved, almost overnight, the level of visibility it took Maria Bartiromo years to achieve” and that “has everyone talking catfight.” || Jon Friedman in 2009: Bartiromo or Burnett?
