Mother Jones | @GovernorPerry
Tim Murphy writes that Texas Gov. Rick Perry still blocks reporters from following his personal Twitter account, as first reported in February. (A spokeswoman for Perry has said the governor manages his account as he likes, considering he doesn’t use state resources.) It’s especially odd, Murphy writes, considering that at one point Perry followed Murphy’s Twitter account, but he can’t do so in return. One workaround is to use an RSS reader to follow @GovernorPerry; just subscribe to this URL. And of course anyone can still read Perry’s tweets by viewing his profile page. But there must be a better way to track @GovernorPerry’s tweets. Which hacker journalist wants to solve this problem for all the campaign reporters out there? Update: Nine minutes after I posted this, @PerryUnblocked was born, thanks to Yahel Carmon. (He put the RSS feed for @GovernorPerry into Yahoo Pipes, and then to Twitterfeed.)
