National Sports Journalism Center
Tim Franklin is leaving his post as director of Indiana University’s National Sports Journalism Center to become an editor-at-large for Bloomberg in Washington. “The move allows him to fulfill a lifelong goal of practicing journalism in Washington, D.C.,” writes the Center in announcing his departure. Franklin will oversee enterprise stories for Bloomberg Government. He left the Baltimore Sun in 2008 to open and run the center; before that, he was editor of the Orlando Sentinel. A search will begin in August for a new director.
