The last post on the site that called itself “a daily look inside the newspaper of record” appeared on March 27 with the headline, “Another One Bites The Dust…” (It was referring to the Times Magazine’s “Lives” feature.) The last tweet was on that day, too. An email sent to the site on Wednesday hasn’t been answered. Do you know what happened to the Times watchdog? Tell us in comments or send me an email. || Sept. 8, 2009: New York Times deletes post claiming David Blum is The NYTPicker.
UPDATE: At least one Romenesko reader hasn’t ruled out Blum as The NYTPicker. That person points out: “In January 2011, he started as editor of Kindle Singles. While the NYTPicker’s last post was in March, as you note, you’ll see that regular activity on the site dropped off at the end of last year, just before Blum assumed full-time work with Amazon.” I sent this observation to Blum — check your Columbia U. account, David — and asked for comment. I’ll post it when/if it arrives.
