Rupert Murdoch's new iPad publication The Daily debuted today  with 100 magazine-like pages of original reporting, video storytelling and integrated social media.

Details leaked just before the 11 a.m. announcement; still after months of speculation, seeing is believing. And while some questions remain, we do have some answers: Apple has confirmed it will make subscription services like this one available to others in the near future.

My colleague Steve Myers live blogged the announcement below. (CNET News, Macworld and The Loop also blogged the event.)

Here are some screenshots of the inaugural issue.

Users can scan the contents of the issue by swiping "tiles" across the screen.
In a TV-like video, an anchor introduces the top stories of the issue. Users can jump directly to the stories she references by touching a hot spot on the screen.
Some features, such as this story on the massive snowstorm blanketing the country, are set up so that the user can read the story by holding the iPad vertically and view photos by holding it horizontally.
