Yahoo!, USA Today, ABC News and Advance saw unique visitors to their websites grow in April compared to March, while all other sites saw declines, data from comScore shows.
To determine the most viewed news websites in the U.S., we merged comScore’s data on newspaper websites with its data on general news and information sites. Based on that merger, these are the most visited news sites in April:

- This is not an official comScore ranking, this is our mashup of their data.
- The CNN Network data includes Time.com, People.com and other Time Warner properties.
- The New York Times Brand data does not include About.com.
Other comScore data released today reveals that since the introduction of its paid online subscription model in March, the New York Times saw its share of total page views to newspaper sites drop in April, when compared to previous months (see below).
We would not predict what the May metrics will show, however Experian hitwise data on traffic to the top 10 news sites during news of Osama bin Laden’s death show Yahoo and MSNBC capturing a majority of visits:
