“It’s going to be fun … there is a touch of irony about it,” said Colin Myler about competing with News Corp.’s New York Post six months after losing his job as editor of News of the World. The Post (where Myler was once executive editor) greeted his announcement with this:

Most staffers were scratching their heads about who Colin Myler is and if he would try to bring the paper more down-market.

“I don’t know anything about him other than what I read about the News of the World,” said one staffer at the Snooze.
