FishbowlDC Editor Betsy Rothstein has spent the afternoon responding to readers who are criticizing her for a piece she wrote about female campaign and White House reporters who are using “provocative, sometimes sexy photographs of themselves for their Twitter accounts.” In the post, Rothstein quotes The Washingtonian’s Harry Jaffe as saying, “That’s what they have going for them.”

Not surprisingly, men and women are calling the column sexist. Here’s a look at how the conversation is playing out on Twitter, along with some background on the issue of women facing discrimination on social networks:
