In this week’s career chat, Miranda Mulligan, the new executive director of the Knight News Innovation Lab at Northwestern University, talked about emerging careers for journalists. Mulligan, who just started her new job this week, previously worked as digital design director at BostonGlobe.com, and was a multimedia presentation artist and a news graphic artist.

During the chat, Mulligan talked about how journalists can develop digital storytelling skills and be more innovative online. She also shared several resources for journalists who want to develop programming skills and launch their own sites.
