Chris Seper, founder and CEO of MedCity Media, recently wrote that the best way to save a newspaper is to stop acting like one. Newspaper companies, he said, need to start thinking of themselves as being in the media business, not the newspaper business. He went on to say that, contrary to what people might think, “there has never been a better time to be in journalism.”
During a live chat, Seper talked more about why he thinks it’s a good time to be a journalist, even despite all the challenges the industry is facing. He offered tips about the opportunities that are available for journalists and the skills they need to take advantage of them.
