New NYT CEO will make $1 million year, plus possible bonuses

Mr. Thompson is receiving a $3 million sign-on bonus. In 2013, Mr. Thompson will receive a $1 million annual salary plus the potential for a $1 million annual bonus. He will also receive a $3 million bonus for meeting long-term incentives, paid out over three years. The bonus payments are not guaranteed unless Mr. Thompson meets certain goals spelled out by the company.
