Joanna Hernandez, the president of Unity Journalists, applied for and received a buyout package from the Washington Post, where she is currently a multiplatform editor, Richard Prince reports. She’s going to become a career services director for City University of New York’s journalism grad school. “I’m very excited about this opportunity, because it means I will be able to use both my personal and professional experiences to help the next generation of journalists enter our trade,” Hernandez told Prince.
Prince names six other journalists of color who have accepted the Post’s most recent buyout offer: two of those are news aides Stephen A. Crockett Jr. and Kerry Flagg.
