As 2013 turns to 2014, Associated Press photos of celebrations will appear on digital billboards owned by Clear Channel Outdoor, the companies say in a press release.

The billboards — more than a thousand of them — are in 38 cities, including Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Denver. None are in New York City, according to the release, but there are some in New Jersey.

Clear Channel says the campaign is a way of showing its billboards can be a “powerful real-time broadcast medium.” AP says it gives “AP’s most amazing photography a whole new stage.”
