One of the risks of publishing my annual list of the year in media errors and corrections before the exact end of the month is that I miss something worthy of mention. Well, it took less than 24 hours for that to happen.

Here’s a pretty amazing apology published in U.K. tabloid The Sun yesterday, as tweeted out by the offended party, Member of Parliament Lucy Powell:

The paper issued an apology on Twitter prior to issuing the print correction:

The Sun had removed the online version of the piece after Powell issued an initial complaint.

Yes, it’s definitely one of the notable media apologies of the year.
