The faculty adviser at Oral Roberts University’s student newspaper resigned after the paper identified the wrong person as the university’s incoming president:
The Oracle erroneously named a Texas pastor as the new president in its online edition about 15 minutes before the Wednesday chapel service at which the announcement was expected to be made.
The new president is William “Billy” Wilson, the World reports. Kevin Armstrong resigned from the university, saying “Out of respect for the university that I will always love, and for my family’s well-being, I have resigned from the university on amicable terms and will have no further comment.” Dan Reimold reports that Armstrong may have been fired by current ORU President Mark Rutland, who called the paper’s story “irresponsible.”
And in Greensboro, N.C., the News & Record misspelled the name of new owner Warren Buffett on Page 1, Charles Apple reports.
