Recent news about the NSA Surveillance program has Americans, especially journalists and active social media users, concerned about their privacy rights.

On Friday at 11 a.m. ET, Susan McGregor, assistant professor at Columbia School of Journalism with the Tow Center for Digital Journalism, will discuss ways to minimize security risks and better protect your communications when using digital tools.

McGregor — author of a recent Columbia Journalism Review piece, “Lessons for journos in the NSA revelations” — will answer chat participants’ questions and offer advice.
