Newspaper misspells its own name in article about winning awards

The Chronicle Herald of Halifax, Nova Scotia (my hometown paper!) was proud of its six wins at the Atlantic Journalism Awards this past weekend.

Like any publication that earns praise for its work, the paper celebrated its wins in an article that also listed the other winners.

Unfortunately, the print edition of that story came with a typo. Yes, the paper misspelled its own name in the headline:

Local magazine editor Trevor J. Adams spotted the error and posted a note about it on Facebook.

“The Chronicle Herald wins six awards … But none for proofreading,” he noted.

Embarrassing, though not as bad as the New Hampshire paper that misspelled its own name on the front page.

Correction: It turns out, we had our own misspelling in this story; Tim Bousquet’s name was originally misspelled.
