Paywall software provider Press+ released new data today about the more than 400 publishers who use its service to charge for digital content. (Poynter uses Press+ to solicit donations.) Overall, publishers are gradually squeezing readers with higher digital subscription prices and fewer free articles per month.

Infographics below, provided by Press+, show the trends. Earlier data from the company showed that sites producing more content made more money from digital subscriptions.

Digital subscription prices have risen $2.60 a month, or 39 percent, since 2011.
A plurality of publishers set their “meters” for six to 10 free articles per month.
The overall average of free monthly views allowed by metered paywalls is now 10, down from 13 at the start of 2012 and 11 late last year.
